26-Piece Wooden Tangram Set for Letterpress Printing
A type-high version of the ancient Chinese tangram puzzle. Tangram pieces can be combined with wood type, metal type, or any other type-high printing material, and printed using a desktop or flatbed press. Most tangram shapes will fit within a 6x4 inch chase. Creative lockups required!
Each box contains:
• A 7-piece wooden type-high tangram for printing shapes
• A type-high ‘parallelo-tan’, for printing tangram shapes that require a flipped paralleogram.
• Two 9-piece wooden spacing sets to use alongside your own spacing material when locking up shapes in a chase
• Puzzle ideas
Size
• Tangram and spacing sets in square form are approx. 144pt x 144pt (50mm x 50mm) each
• Box dimensions h26mm x w110mm x d110mm
Material
Each piece is cut from end grain English beech wood. The pieces for printing are finished with a traditional polished shellac surface and made to English type-high; 0.918in or 23.3mm (+/- 0.2mm).
Packaging
The box is hand-made from recycled card and covered with kraft paper. The lid and band are hand printed on an Adana 8x5 using a tangram set and metal type.
